Accelerated Reader Accelerated Reader is a program that was begun to help promote reading for enjoyment and to encourage students to improve their reading skills. With this program, students choose books found in our library, read them, and then take a short objective quiz on the computer to assess the student’s comprehension of the book/story. The quiz is made to assure teachers and parents that the student has actually read the book. Upon completing the quiz, students receive a print-out of their test results which they turn in to their respective teachers. The program keeps track of the points each student earns throughout the year and allows them to participate in the Accelerated Reading Contest in the library. Students may earn points toward the different point-level clubs and win prizes that are awarded upon these levels. |
